MEMORIAL GARDEN Benefit and Raffle were a huge success!  After expenses the committee earned $1,724.26.  An identifying sign and concrete benches have been installed. Plaques in memory of our deceased loved ones have been received and will be installed soon.   If you wish to order a plaque, please pick up a form at the office.

PROPOSED WATER SPIGOTS for the rear of all the units has been put on hold at this time.  Community members have given the Board some good points to reconsider before this can be done.

GARBAGE PICK-UP has been reduced to once weekly giving us a substantial cost savings.  If your dumpster is full please go to the next one.  Do NOT leave garbage alongside dumpsters.  This would cause garbage to be strewn by animals all through our properties.  Please cooperate to keep Lakeshore beautiful and our fees down.

FUN AT LAKESHORE:In November, we had a wonderful turnout for our annual Family Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner, serving about 160 people.

In December, Activities had a Snack Supper Tree Lighting Evening with Caroling and a small Christmas Eve gathering, as well as a nice New Year’s Eve Social.

In January, Activities had a Pulled Pork Dinner on the Square, Men’s Club had a Hot Swing Dixie Jazz Band Dance and Shuffleboard enjoyed their first Potluck Dinner.

In February, Activities had an Ice Cream Social with Florida entertainer Glenn Johnson and a Turkey Dinner on the Square, Shuffleboard had a “Turkey Shoot” competition and a potluck dinner and The Men’s Club had a Valentine’s Day Dance featuring the “Repeatles.”

In March, Men’s Club had a St. Patrick’s Day Dance, Shuffleboard had their last potluck dinner of the season and Activities had an Ice Cream Social and Game Night.

Have a great summer, wherever you are!

WATCH FOR NEW WEB SITE!!!!!!  There has been some confusion and difficulty about reaching our website.  We will try to make it easier, more direct, and more attractive.  Until this site is complete, minutes and newsletters can be obtained from the office either by email or leaving a self addressed stamped envelope.

MARKETING COMMITTEE has been formed to pursue purchasers for Lakeshore’s non-revenue producing units and to assist other owners with their sales.  The committee will be calling all units listed on our current web site requesting pictures of the interior and exterior of their unit and permission to show it to prospective buyers.  They will be advertising in teamsters, union, and retired federal employee publications targeting people with a guaranteed pension and the means to purchase even in this weak economy.  At this time they will continue connecting the homeowner directly with the buyer.

TURN OFF WATER to your unit when you leave for any long period of time by calling the business office.  This will not only reduce the overall usage charge but could prevent flooding in your unit and possible damages to your neighbors units.  Just call the office again before you return and they will see that it is on when you arrive.

MANDATORY FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT WATER RESTRICTIONS “Odd” house numbers can only water lawns and plants on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.  “Even” house numbers can only water on Thursday’s and Sunday’s.  Watering can only be done between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. No one can water between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

NEWLY PLANTED TREES will also need to be watered on the permitted days and times.  If you haven’t already “adopted” one to care for, please take on this responsibility when you are here.  These were a large expense of our money that would be lost if we allowed them to die.

*** HELPFUL HINTS *** When you leave your unit for an extended time, cover your toilet bowl with plastic wrap.  This will keep water in the tank not allowing rats or bugs to enter through dry pipes.  It will also keep your seals from drying up and leaking.  Covering the sink and bathtub drains will also help keep out any little critters.

NEW POOL DECK and tile have been installed.  The Spa and fencing will be completed shortly.  Please follow the rules that are posted and be sure your guests are aware of them.

SECOND LAWSUIT has started with a sworn deposition at Merlin Law Group in Tampa, Florida on March 26, 2010 by our past Board Secretary, Chris Purdy who was chosen by our attorney for her experience in the last lawsuit and her five years serving on the Board of Directors.  It was explained to her and I that this suit is for any damages and/or related code upgrades that Lakeshore was not able to complete with the monies received from the first settlement.  Our manager and Ms. Purdy are compiling a list of these items for the arbitration mediation to take place on July 30, 2010.  If we cannot reach an agreement on that date, it will go to a jury trial in November.  We will keep everyone up to date and hope that we have all homeowners’ full support on this issue.  ANDY ANDREU, BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESIDENT

VIOLATIONS will now be recorded and issued since our “clean up” time has expired.  Please be sure the areas surrounding your unit are debris free and all loose items are stored away properly.

SINGLE TENNIS or HANDBALL wall has been erected at one end of the tennis courts for your enjoyment.

REMEMBER to pay your assessments on time. A homeowner with delinquent assessments will automatically be suspended from the use of any amenities provided such as the island area, pool, spa, game room and gym. This includes the homeowner’s guests.

PETS ON ISLAND trial period was unsuccessful and as of May 24, 2010 the privilege has been revoked and no pets are allowed on the island.
